DRUG INTERACTIONS:

Caution with anticoagulant drugs - resveratrol may (theoretically) have an additive effect. Monitor.

Caution with drugs metabolised via the cytochrome P450 pathway - resveratrol may inhibit the activity of cytochrome P450 and theoretically increase the bioavailability of these medications. Separate dose by 2 hours.

Caution with NSAIDs, cefalexin, penacillamine and tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics - zinc interferes with absorption. Separate doses by 3 hours.

CAUTIONS:

Women with a history of oestrogen sensitive cancers, such as breast, ovarian and uterine cancers, should avoid taking resveratrol supplements (due to its possible oestrogenic activity).

SIDE EFFECTS:

Resveratrol may cause mild gastrointestinal discomfort, loose stools or diarrhea.
